Tiger Woods Ya'll

Okay, so maybe not quite Tiger Woods, but we're working on it! Ava LOVES Tiger, every time we watch golf (which in my house is way too much if you ask me) Ava will get all excited when she sees Tiger and yell "look guys, it's Tyan Woods!" (Tyan is my mom's name, she's a little confused on the T's I guess!) While Galen was watching golf on Saturday morning, she even noticed that Tiger didn't have his customary red shirt on because it wasn't a Sunday! Too funny. Well, after much anticipation, we finally got our little Tiger on the course....

We found this special gold ball for her, she calls it her "princess ball"
Okay, so I know she's putting with the wrong side of the club, and it's an iron, not a putter, but hey...she's trying! Guess we've got some practicing to do!
Maybe she's better at course maintenance! She loved the sand traps!
All tuckered out after 9 holes.
A celebratory ice cream after a fun day on the course.
We had a great time at the Redmond Family Golf Links. Miles even got to join us at this ultra laid back pitch n' put course. We strolled him along in his Bob...maybe he picked up some golf pointers from his big sis.

Happy Birthday Galen!

Today is my hubby's 29th birthday. Just wanted to wish Galen (and his twin Jason) a very happy birthday. Galen, you are the greatest husband and most incredible and patient Daddy. I appreciate everything you do for our family. Love you so much...have a very happy birthday!!

Week in Review

This past week it's been HOT in Bend...so we've spent much of our days at my parent's pool. We are so lucky to have it, Ava LOVES to swim, I think she'd swim for 24 hours straight if I let her. Miles loves being in the water too...he just splashes around and laughs. I've yet to get out my camera at the pool though. Oh well, guess I have enough pics anyways!
Other than the pool, we've pretty much been relaxing with family. My parents and aunt Melanie came over for dinner, and I snuck in a few pics then...I am so happy to report that my mom is doing wonderfully, thanks so much to the great care she has received from my Dad, but mostly from my Aunt Mel. She is the most giving person I know. She really hates being photographed, but I just love this pic of her and Miles...
Funny story about Ava and Mel... Ava has been very into genders lately, I've said before how she lets people know if they have a penis or a vagina on a regular basis...but lately, she somehow has gotten it into her head that only girls have blond hair and boys have brown hair (guess it's true in my family but whatever) so yesterday she's chatting away to Mel, and she says, Nanna, you have a penis? and Mel says, no...and Ava says, but you have dark hair, you have a penis. I have blond hair and mommy has blond hair so we have a vagina...I tried to explain to her that Melanie was infact a female, but I don't know if that stuck or not. She's too funny, so observant it's crazy!! I've been trying to tell her that speaking about penises and vaginas in public is not very polite, but haven't gotten through to her yet...oops!
This is a pic of Ava smelling our flowers. I keep warning her about the bees, but she doesn't seem to get it...nothing I say gets through to her... I swear I'll be posting about her first bee sting soon!
Here's My Dad and Mom with the kids. Oh, such a cute story about my mom's bald head...the first time my little nephew Jake (2 and 1/2 years) saw my mom's bald head, he picked up the watering can on their deck and tried to water her head to make her hair grow! Is that not the cutest thing you've ever heard???
I don't know how Miles is able to lift that huge head off the ground...but he does it! Every time I put that kid down he rolls over and tries to scoot across the floor. If I leave him and go do something else, I'll find him halfway across the room by the time I get back! I have a feeling he's going to be just as busy as Ava...oh no!
Last Sunday, I had the pleasure of having my friend Lisa Spry (better known as L-Spry) and her boyfriend Benji over to my house before they drove home from their weekend at Sunriver. It was so fun to see Spry and meet her main squeeze. Although it was a very short visit, it was so great to see her. It reminds me how far away I am from all my girlfriends...distance makes the heart grow fonder I guess! Ava of course gave the tour of our house to Spry and finished up with a stop in her very pink bedroom...she's very proud of it. It was great seeing them...and hope to see them again very soon!
This weekend we're headed over to the cabin...more fun in the sun for us and the kids!! Hope everyone has a fun and relaxing weekend!

Back off...I'm STARVING!

Miles had his first taste of solid food today (if you call watered down rice cereal solid food) and loved it! I had a feeling he would as he's been very interested in watching us eat at the dinner table for some time now. He ate an entire bowl, drank his bottle, and passed out about 30 minutes later...Like father, like son.

Ava has decided to get up on the wrong side of the bed the past couple of mornings. This is a classic Ava pout (we've been having lots of these lately). She's my little grumpy pants these days...thank goodness she's as cute as she is or I'd have a hard time living with the little "tude" she's had lately! This too shall pass...right?

Mornings with Daddy

Got some cute pics of Galen with the kids this past weekend. This is pretty much what it looks like every morning after the kids wake up in our house. We sit and watch cartoons for about an hour before Daddy has to get ready for work. Ava loves this time with Galen, and I think he likes it too...even though it is at about 6AM!They sure do love their Dad!!
Everyone at the Blyth house is doing great. Ava's still talking a mile a minute...it's so funny what comes out of that kid's mouth...she's such a character. We were at Costco the other day and she did something that I didn't like so I told her "no" and she yelled at the top of her lungs "I don't like you mama, I want my DADDY!!!" She's been doing that alot lately, when one of us tells her no, she goes to the other one...I think we're in for it when she's a teenager! She's alot like me, so I think I'm in big trouble. On Saturday, she had a big fall on the pavement, skinned up her hand and forehead and cut her lip...she cried for about 4 minutes and then went out and kept on playing. She's gotten really good at riding her bike, so we've been doing that quite a bit lately too.
Miles is growing bigger and cuter (in my personal opinion:) each day. He's now able to roll over front to back and then back to front. He's showing signs of crawling and scoots himself towards toys he wants. He also talks and jabbers on and on to whoever or whatever he thinks is listening to him...he loves making noises, and does so most of the time he's awake...and he loves to smile and laugh. He's sleeping 9-10 hours a night with 2 naps during the day, so we're on a really good schedule now...I'm SO happy about that! I cannot believe my little guy will already be 4 months old tomorrow!!
Today, we're headed to the pool ...I'm getting sad that summer is almost over...I'm trying to get the kids outside to the pool or the park everyday...it'll be cold here before we know it!
